How to Link Apple Notes to Reminders

Linking Apple Notes to Reminders: create a reminder from within a Note (tap the link icon in Notes) or add a note link to a Reminder using the attachment feature. iOS 16+ enables direct bidirectional linking.

Method 1: Create Reminder from Within a Note

In Apple Notes: tap the three-dot menu > Add Reminder. This creates a new Reminder with a deep link back to the note. The Reminder appears in the Reminders app. When the reminder fires, tapping it opens the linked note directly.

Method 2: Link a Note to an Existing Reminder

In Reminders: open or create a reminder > tap the info icon > Notes. A note picker lets you select an existing Apple Note to attach. The note appears as a linked attachment in the Reminder.

Method 3: Share Sheet Link

Copy a link to a Note: in Apple Notes > tap the Share icon > Copy Link. This creates a deep link (notes://...) that opens the note when tapped. Paste this link into a Reminder’s notes field.

Use Cases

Meeting prep: create a Reminder for a meeting with a linked Notes document containing the agenda.

Project tasks: link Reminders (individual tasks) to Notes (project overview and reference material).

Review reminders: set a weekly review Reminder linked to a Notes page with your review template.

Focus Mode Integration

In iOS 26: time-based Reminders can surface via Priority Notifications. If your Reminder is linked to a Note, tapping the notification opens the Note directly.

Nemos and Reminders

Nemos does not currently link to Apple Reminders natively. For task-reference workflows: use Apple Notes for notes that need Reminders linking, and Nemos for unstructured capture (voice memos, screenshots, web clips).
