How to Merge PDFs on iPhone for Free (No App Needed)

Built-In PDF Merging on iPhone
iOS Files app doesn't have native PDF merge. The built-in solutions: Shortcuts app (Create PDF action chains multiple PDFs into one), or the Print dialog (select multiple files → Print → pinch out to create PDF → share).
Print-to-PDF method: select all files you want to merge in Files → Share → Print → pinch out on the preview → tap Share to save as PDF. This works for PDFs, images, and documents.
For a one-time workflow: Shortcuts is overkill. For regular merging: a simple Shortcut with a "Get Clipboard" → "Create PDF" chain handles most cases.
After merging: save the result to Nemos via Share Sheet with context. "March vendor contracts combined" is searchable later. PDFs saved to Files with generic names (document-1.pdf) are effectively unsearchable.

Where Nemos fits
Nemos is a private second brain for iPhone that solves the "I saved it somewhere" problem. Every screenshot, voice memo, PDF, and link you save gets OCR'd, transcribed, and indexed on-device using Apple Foundation Models. Find anything by typing one word. Free. Apple-only. Free on the App Store.
