How to Build a Second Brain on iPhone in 2026 (No Coding)

No-Code Second Brain on iPhone
Building a second brain doesn't require automation tools, Obsidian plugins, or custom workflows. The minimum viable second brain has two requirements: a place for everything to land, and a way to find it again.
iPhone-native stack, no coding: Nemos handles capture (voice, screenshots, PDFs, articles via Share Sheet). Apple Notes or Bear handles deliberate writing and structured notes. These two apps, used consistently, constitute a functional second brain.
The habit, not the tool: capture reflexively (voice memo for ideas, screenshot for references, Share Sheet for articles) and review weekly (search Nemos for the week's captures, promote important items to your notes app). This takes 5 minutes per day of capture and 15 minutes per week of review.
The systems that fail require elaborate setup and perfect discipline. This system works with low-friction capture and occasional review.

Where Nemos fits
Nemos is a private second brain for iPhone that solves the "I saved it somewhere" problem. Every screenshot, voice memo, PDF, and link you save gets OCR'd, transcribed, and indexed on-device using Apple Foundation Models. Find anything by typing one word. Free. Apple-only. Free on the App Store.
