How to Organize Safari Bookmarks on iPhone (Folders + Tags)

By ··5 min read

The Bookmark Graveyard

Safari bookmarks accumulate quickly and degrade faster. A bookmark saved in 2022 for "reference later" is often useless by the time you need it — the article is paywalled, the product is discontinued, or you no longer remember why you saved it.

The organization problem isn't folder structure — it's that bookmarks capture URLs without context. You don't know why you saved something until you open it.

Alternative capture workflow: instead of bookmarking, screenshot the relevant section and save to Nemos with a voice note explaining why it matters. The screenshot persists even if the URL disappears. The voice note preserves the context at the moment you found it valuable.

For truly useful reference material: save the article URL to Matter or Readwise for later reading, and capture the key takeaway to Nemos after reading. Two taps more, but you end up with knowledge rather than a URL.
