How to Attach Meeting Notes to Apple Calendar Events
By Taha Baalla··5 min read
Adding meeting notes to Apple Calendar events: tap a calendar event > Notes field > add text. For longer notes, use Fantastical (links to Apple Notes) or link the calendar event to an Apple Notes note via Reminders.
Method 1: Calendar Event Notes Field
In Calendar app: tap an event > Edit > Notes field. Add text directly. Notes appear when you open the event. Syncs via iCloud. Limitation: plain text only, limited formatting.
For Siri: "Hey Siri, add notes to my 3pm meeting: discuss Q2 budget." Siri adds to the event notes field.
Method 2: Fantastical ($4.99/month)
Fantastical links calendar events to Apple Notes. When you open an event in Fantastical, you can create or link a Note. The Note appears linked in the event view. Best for: users who want rich notes (including Nemos captures) referenced from calendar events.
Method 3: Create a Reminder from a Note
Apple Notes > create meeting prep note > tap the paperclip/reminder icon. Creates a Reminder linked back to the Note. The Reminder can have a time-based alert before the meeting. Tap the reminder to jump to the note.
Using Nemos for Meeting Context
For meeting context and background: save related screenshots, voice observations, and research in Nemos organized by project Smart Space. Before the meeting, search Nemos for relevant captures. After the meeting, add a voice debrief to Nemos.
Nemos does not link directly to calendar events, but the Smart Space organization by project or person provides the relevant context layer.
The Problem With Calendar-Attached Notes
Apple Calendar's notes field stores text per event. This works for brief agendas and basic pre-meeting context. It doesn't work for post-meeting capture: notes written during a meeting belong with the event, but editing a calendar event while in the meeting is awkward.
Better workflow: capture during the meeting via Nemos (voice note, screenshots of slides, typed key points). After the meeting: link the capture to the calendar event context by searching Nemos for the date and adding a tag or note with the event name.
For follow-up tracking: the most important meeting output is commitments. Voice-capture commitments immediately after the meeting ends: "Marcus will send the contract by Thursday. I need to review and respond by EOW." Searchable in Nemos; never lost to a calendar note field.
