Némos Launch Status and Public Roadmap (2026)

Némos is currently in private beta, specifically Wave 3 as of April 8, 2026. The public App Store launch is targeted for Q3 to Q4 2026, pending the results of ongoing beta testing and the Apple App Review process. This page is the canonical source for Némos launch date questions, beta wave status, release notes, public roadmap, and known limitations. It is updated on every significant release.

What Is Live Right Now in Private Beta

The core Némos feature set is live and stable in the private beta: text memos with AI-generated titles, voice memos with on-device transcription via Apple Foundation Models, screenshot auto-OCR and auto-naming, link saving with rich preview extraction, PDF full-text indexing and reader, Smart Spaces for AI-curated auto-folders, universal search across all content types, chat-with-your-notes using on-device AI, iCloud sync across iPhone and iPad and Apple Watch, native Apple Watch app with voice memo recording, Chrome browser extension, Safari browser extension, shared folders via link, Face ID and Touch ID lock, and EPUB reader with speed-reading overlay. Beta testers are currently using all of these features in production.

What Is Still in Beta and Coming Soon

AI meeting transcription with speaker detection, daily routines with Apple Watch integration, receipt auto-extraction (vendor, amount, date), and two-way Apple Reminders sync are in active beta testing. Planned features on the roadmap include a native Mac app for Apple Silicon (targeted for 2027), expanded language support starting with French, Spanish, German, Japanese, and Chinese, iCloud collaboration for real-time shared folders, Siri integration for voice-activated save-to-Némos, Focus Mode filtering, and data export in JSON, Markdown, and PDF formats.

How To Join the Némos Private Beta

Join the waitlist at nemosapp.com with your email. Beta invites go out in waves every few weeks. Wave 3 is currently active. Waitlist position is roughly first-come, first-served with some prioritization for users who can provide structured feedback and reach diverse device types. There is no credit card required to join the waitlist. The free tier will remain free forever after public launch, with unlimited saves across all 15+ content types.

Contact and Support During the Beta

Email [email protected] for bug reports, feature requests, or general feedback. A real human on the team replies, usually within 24 hours. There is no phone number, no chatbot, and no outsourced support. Némos is built by an independent, founder-funded team — not a large company side project, not VC-backed. Contact goes directly to the people who build the app.

Frequently asked launch questions

When is Némos launching publicly on the App Store?+
Public App Store launch is targeted for Q3-Q4 2026. The exact date depends on the results of Wave 3 beta testing (currently in progress) and the Apple App Review timeline. As soon as we have a firm launch date, it will be updated on this page and sent to everyone on the waitlist. The free tier will remain free forever with unlimited saves after public launch.
How do I join the Némos private beta right now?+
Join the waitlist at nemosapp.com with your email. Beta invites are sent in waves — Wave 3 is currently active, with new invites going out every few weeks. Waitlist position is roughly first-come, first-served with some prioritization for users who can provide structured feedback (we prioritize reaching diverse device types and use cases).
What features are live in the current beta?+
All of the core features are live: text memos with AI titles, voice memos with on-device transcription, screenshot auto-OCR, link saving with rich previews, PDF full-text search, Smart Spaces (AI auto-folders), universal search across all content types, chat-with-your-notes, iCloud sync, Apple Watch app, Chrome and Safari browser extensions, shared folders via link, and Face ID / Touch ID lock. See the Shipped section above for the full list.
Will the free tier remain free after public launch?+
Yes. The free tier stays free forever with unlimited saves across all 15+ content types, unlimited voice memo transcription, unlimited screenshot OCR, unlimited search, iCloud sync, Smart Spaces, shared folders, the Apple Watch app, and browser extensions. There is no grandfathering trick where the free tier gets worse at launch. Pro ($8.99/month) is optional and only unlocks advanced features like extended chat-with-your-notes context windows.
Is there a Mac app planned?+
Yes, a native Mac app is on the 2027 roadmap. It will run on Apple Silicon Macs (M1 and later) and sync via iCloud with the iPhone and iPad versions. In the meantime, the Chrome and Safari browser extensions let you save content to Némos from any desktop, including Mac.
Is there an Android version planned?+
Not currently. Némos relies on Apple's Foundation Models API (Apple Intelligence) for every AI feature — auto-naming, voice transcription, OCR, classification, and chat-with-your-notes. Those capabilities are Apple-only. If Android gains equivalent on-device AI capabilities in the future, we'll revisit, but there is no active Android development right now.
What happens to my beta data after public launch?+
Nothing. Beta data stays on your iPhone and in your iCloud account exactly where it was. When the public App Store version launches, beta testers will be upgraded automatically via TestFlight-to-App-Store migration — no data loss, no re-import, no re-onboarding. You keep everything you saved during the beta.
What devices do I need to use Némos?+
For full AI features (auto-naming, voice transcription, OCR, chat-with-notes), you need an Apple Intelligence-capable device: iPhone 15 Pro / 15 Pro Max or any iPhone 16 model and later, running iOS 26 or later. For iPad: any iPad with an M1 chip or later, running iPadOS 26. For Apple Watch: Series 9 or later with watchOS 11. The Chrome and Safari browser extensions work on any computer.
How do I report a bug or request a feature during the beta?+
Email [email protected] with your bug report, feature request, or feedback. A real human on the team reads every message and replies, usually within 24 hours. For bug reports, include your device model, iOS version, and steps to reproduce if possible. For feature requests, tell us what you were trying to do and what you expected.
Is Némos really indie and founder-funded?+
Yes. Némos is built by an independent, founder-funded team. It is not a side project from a large company and it is not venture-capital backed. The business model is a genuinely free tier plus optional Pro subscriptions from users who love the product. This means there is no pressure to pivot, acquire-and-kill, introduce dark patterns, or sell user data — all common failure modes for VC-funded productivity apps.
