Browser Extension Privacy

This is the privacy policy for the Nemos: Save Anything browser extension, filed with the Chrome Web Store, the Safari Extensions gallery and addons.mozilla.org. The Nemos app has its own privacy policy, which this one sits alongside rather than replaces.
1. What this covers
The Nemos browser extension for Chrome, Safari and Firefox. It exists to do one thing: save the page you are looking at into your own Nemos library, without you having to copy a link into another app.
It is published by Taha Baalla, sole proprietor trading as Nemos, Kingdom of Morocco.
2. The short version
- The extension reads a page’s content only when you save it. Opening a page does nothing.
- What you save goes from your browser directly to your own iCloud, using Apple’s CloudKit. It does not pass through a server of ours.
- There is no analytics and no tracking in the extension. We do not know which pages you visit, or that you use it at all.
- Your iCloud access token is stored by your browser, on your machine.
3. Every permission, and why
Extensions ask for permissions in broad categories, and the honest thing is to say what each one is actually used for — including where the permission we must request is wider than the use we make of it.

4. What the extension reads from a page
When you press save, and not before, it reads:
- the page’s address, title and description;
- the preview image and site icon the page declares about itself;
- the article text, extracted the way a reader mode does, and cleaned of scripts before it is stored.
It does not read form fields, passwords, cookies, or anything you have typed. It does not watch what you do on a page, and it keeps no history of pages you did not save.
If a page you saved has no preview image, the extension may fetch the beginning of that page again in the background to find one. That request goes to the site itself.
5. Where your saved items go
Straight into your own iCloud, through Apple’s CloudKit web service, authenticated as you.
We do not operate a server that receives or stores what you save. There is no Nemos database with your links in it, because there is no Nemos database. The items appear in the Nemos app on your devices because they are in your iCloud, not because we sent them anywhere.
6. Signing in
Signing in uses Apple’s own iCloud sign-in. You enter your Apple credentials on Apple’s page; we never see them.
One detail worth stating plainly, because it is the kind of thing people are right to ask about: Apple returns the resulting access token to a small callback page on nemosapp.com, which we operate, and the extension picks it up from there. The token therefore appears briefly in a request to our website before it reaches your browser. We do not record it. After that it lives in your browser’s extension storage, on your machine.
7. What we do not do
- No analytics, no telemetry, no usage measurement of any kind in the extension.
- No advertising, and no sale or sharing of anything for advertising.
- No selling or licensing your data to anyone, for any purpose, including AI training.
- No profile of you, and no attempt to identify you beyond the iCloud account you signed into.
- Nothing is sent to us when you browse. We do not know what sites you visit.
These are commitments about the extension specifically. The Nemos app is a bigger piece of software and its privacy policy describes several services it does contact.
8. Removing your data
Uninstalling the extension removes its stored token and preferences from your browser.
Items you already saved live in your own iCloud, so they are yours to delete: remove them in the Nemos app, or from iCloud directly. Deleting the extension does not delete them, and neither can we.
